How to make Dum Aloo Sabzi in Punjabi style

Punjabi Dum Aloo is one of the most iconic vegetables of Indian cuisine. You can make this vegetable even if there is no vegetable in the house. These vegetables are very easy to make.

To make Dum Aloo, boil potatoes. After boiling, peel it and make a hole in it. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.

Put boiled potatoes in hot oil and fry them on medium flame till they turn light golden in colour. Now take out the potatoes. Grind whole coriander, cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, clove and cashew in a grinder.

Heat 3 tbsp oil in the same pan. Add a pinch of asafoetida, bay leaves and chopped onion. Fry the onion till it turns light brown and add ginger garlic paste and fry it.

Add the ground spices. Beat the curd and stir it slowly with a ladle. Add turmeric powder and red chili powder and mix well. Till the oil starts separating.

Add potatoes, kasoori methi, sugar and salt. Mix it well. Add water when it starts boiling, then cover the gravy and let it cook on low flame till the gravy starts thickening.

Switch off the gas and take it out in a serving bowl. Garnish Punjabi Dum Aloo with coriander leaves and serve hot.
