The holy festival of Janmashtami is being celebrated on 18 and 19 August this year. According to the Hindu calendar, Krishna was born on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month.
People also keep a fast on this day to please Krishna devotee Kanha. Some such simple measures described in the scriptures by which Bal Gopal can be pleased.
Paan has a special significance in the worship of Shri Krishna on the day of Janmashtami. During Janmashtami worship, take a fresh betel leaf and offer it to Shri Krishna by writing 'Om Vasudevaya Namah' in it.
Tulsi is dear to Lord Krishna. In such a situation, Tulsi worship is considered auspicious on this day. It is said that in the evening, a lamp of ghee should be lit in front of Tulsi.
If you do not have a Tulsi plant in your house, you can go to a temple and light a lamp. But do not go to someone else's house to worship Tulsi.
It is believed that by doing this on the day of Janmashtami, Kanha is pleased and fulfills the wishes of the devotees.
