150 BJP workers 'purified' with sanitiser before joining TMC in WB; video viral

Kolkata: Another batch of 150 BJP workers joined the Trinamool Congress in Birbhum after a ‘purification' ritual. The BJP workers were ‘cleaned’ with sanitiser in Birbhum in West Bengal.

The incident took place in Ilambazar block of Birbhum. The local leader has claimed that these BJP workers had the “virus of BJP in them and they were cleansed with sanitiser”.

A video of the incident has emerged showing local leaders using sanitization equipment to spray the disinfectant while the BJP workers walk past them. The ‘cleansing’ process was done at a party event in Birbhum that was attended by local TMC leaders.

Earlier, around 200 BJP workers joined the TMC in Hooghly district after shaving off their heads and sprinkling Gangajal to atone themselves.

The BJP workers in Hooghly claimed that it was a mistake to join BJP. They shaved their heads and sprinkled Gangajal to “atone” for their mistake and returned to the TMC after being “purified”.

The BJP workers in Hooghly held the TMC flag and joined hands with Arambagh MP Aparupa Poddar.

According to TMC MP Aparupa Poddar, the party had organised a program on Tuesday to provide free food to the poor in Arambagh.
