A horrific road accident took place on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Maharashtra on Sunday. Here an uncontrollable container hit 48 vehicles. More than 50 people have been injured in the accident. As soon as the information was received, the police and fire brigade teams have reached the spot.
According to the police, the speeding container was going from Satara towards Mumbai. During this, suddenly his brake failed. After this, the uncontrollable container kept moving forward hitting more than 30 cars. These cars hit some other vehicles. In this way a total of 48 vehicles have been damaged. After this, the container crashed and stopped near Vadgaon bridge.
After the accident, there was a long jam of three kilometers.Officers and employees of Sinhagad and Dattwadi police station have reached the accident spot. Apart from this, 12 to 15 ambulances have also reached the accident site. There is a two to three kilometer long jam on the road going from Satara to Mumbai.
Police Commissioner Sohail Sharma said that the injured are being treated at Mangeshkar and Navale Hospitals. The condition of one is critical and some have been given first aid and allowed to go home. At the same time, the driver of the container has also been injured in the accident. He is being treated. He has not been arrested because of brake failure.
