New Delhi : Parents of 6-year-old Roli Prajapati, who was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Noida, have decided to donate their daughter's organs. With this decision, Roli has become the youngest donor in the history of AIIMS New Delhi. According to the information received, Roli was shot in the head, after which he was taken to the hospital. Soon, she slipped into a coma due to the severity of the injury and was then referred to AIIMS Delhi. After unsuccessful attempts to save the girl, doctors declared her brain dead.AIIMS senior neurosurgeon Dr. Deepak Gupta told news agency ANI, "Roli, a six-and-a-half-year-old girl, had reached the hospital on April 27. She was shot on the head. Due to which the brain was completely damaged. She was almost Arrived at the hospital in a brain dead condition. So, we told the whole thing to the family members."Deepak Gupta further said, "We told the girl that she was brain dead. Then our team of doctors sat down with the parents and talked about organ donation for the child. We advised the parents and their consent. Asked if they would be willing to donate organs to save the lives of other children?"The AIIMS doctor has praised Roli's parents for donating organs and saving the lives of five people. The organs for donation are to be donated to the girl child's liver, kidney, cornea and both heart valves. With this organ donation, Roli has become the youngest donor in the history of AIIMS Delhi. "We are very grateful to the parents for taking this step despite not knowing much about organ donation. They have understood the importance of saving lives," Gupta said.
