Delhi Elections: Political activity has intensified even before the announcement of the dates of Delhi Assembly elections. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its second list of 20 candidates on Monday. In this list, the change of seat of party veteran and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was also announced.

Sisodia will now contest from Jangpura

Manish Sisodia, who had been contesting from Patparganj assembly seat till now, will contest from Jangpura this time. Awadh Ojha has been given ticket from his old seat Patparganj. The party has taken this step as a strategic change.

Announcement of 20 names in the second list

AAP's second list includes the names of a total of 20 candidates. Awadh Ojha from Patparganj, Adil Ahmed Khan from Mustafabad, Rakhi Birlan from Madipur, Praveen Kumar from Janakpuri, Padmashree Jitendra Singh Shanti from Shahdara, and Naveen Chaudhary from Gandhinagar have been made candidates.

The ticket of the current MLA Haji Yunus has been cut. As part of its new strategy, AAP has fielded new candidates on many seats by removing old faces.

Tickets of MLAs were cut in the first list too

On November 21 last month, AAP announced the names of 11 candidates in its first list. In this list, tickets of three current MLAs were cut. Apart from this, six leaders who joined AAP from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress were given tickets.

Leaders who came from BJP and Congress got priority

AAP has also given preference to leaders who left BJP and Congress and joined the party in the second list. Brahm Singh Tanwar from Chhatarpur seat, BB Tyagi from Laxmi Nagar, and Sumesh Shaukeen from Matiala have been given tickets. Brahm Singh and BB Tyagi were earlier BJP leaders, while Sumesh Shaukeen came to AAP from Congress.

Big faces discussed in PAC meeting

The party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) met on Monday at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Many senior leaders including Manish Sisodia, Imran Hussain, Atishi, and Durgesh Pathak attended it. A large number of names of candidates were discussed in the meeting and the strategy was finalized.

Focus on new strategy in elections

This time AAP's focus is on strengthening the party's image and defeating the opposition parties. By cutting the tickets of the current MLAs and giving a chance to the leaders who came from other parties, the party has indicated that it will not shy away from any kind of change to win the seats.

More lists expected in the coming days

AAP has announced 31 candidates so far. Candidates for the remaining seats are expected to be announced soon. The party is trying to win a big victory in the upcoming elections while maintaining its hold in Delhi.

Conclusion

The Aam Aadmi Party has intensified its preparations in the electoral field by releasing the list of candidates. With the decision to change Manish Sisodia's seat and give a chance to many new faces, AAP has made it clear that this time it is preparing to contest the elections with a new strategy and freshness. Now it remains to be seen how much this strategy benefits the party.
