Corona seems to be raising its head once again in the country. In the last 24 hours, 2451 new infected have been found. Active cases also increased to more than 14 thousand.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday morning, 54 people died of corona in the last 24 hours. With this, the total death toll has increased to 5,22,116. The number of new infected has been increasing for the last few days. With the arrival of new cases, active cases have increased to 14,241.

On Thursday, 2380 newly infected were found and 56 corona patients died. Of these, 53 old deaths were reported from the state of Kerala. The total number of infected patients in the country increased to 4,30,52,425 on Friday. The active cases on Thursday stood at 13,433. On Friday, they increased by 808. With 54 more deaths, the total death toll has gone up to 5,22,116.

Active cases in the country are 0.03 percent of the total cases. However, the good thing is that the corona recovery rate remains at 98.75 percent.

Eight new variants, not two from Omicron revealed

Not two but eight new variants of Omicron have been detected amid increasing infection in some states of the country. One of these forms has also been found in the capital of the country, whose investigation has been started by scientists of INSACOG and National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

It has been learned that this variant has been found in a corona infected patient who recently returned to Delhi from foreign travel. Since its genetic structure is completely different from that of the existing variant. Therefore, it has been sent to INSACOG for further investigation on behalf of Delhi.

Confirming this, a senior scientist at Insacco said that when matched with the current form of the corona virus internationally and their genetic structure, it resembles the BA.2.12.1 mutation. However, there is no information about its effects on public health. So people do not need to panic at the moment.
