Petrol-Diesel Price | The Rajasthan government on Saturday also reduced the value added tax (VAT) on petrol by Rs 2.48 per liter and on diesel by Rs 1.16 per liter after the central government cut excise duty.State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote on Twitter, "Due to the reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel by the central government, the state government will reduce VAT on petrol by Rs 2.48 per liter and on diesel by Rs 1.16 per liter. This will result in petrol in the state by Rs 10.48 and diesel by Rs. It will be cheaper by Rs 7.16 per litre.Earlier, the Kerala government had also announced a reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2.41 and Rs 1.36, respectively.Petrol cheaper by Rs 9.5, diesel by Rs 7 per liter, subsidy on gas cylinderThe government on Saturday announced reduction of excise duty on petrol and diesel by up to Rs 8 and Rs 6 per liter, respectively, in view of the impact on common life due to the ever-increasing prices of fuel products. With this reduction in excise duty, petrol will practically become cheaper by Rs 9.5 per liter while the price of diesel will come down by up to Rs 7 per litre. This will be due to reduction in other taxes levied at the rate of excise duty.Petrol price in Delhi has gone up to Rs 95.91 per liter from Sunday after the duty cut is effective as against its current price of Rs 105.41 per litre. At the same time, diesel started selling at Rs 89.67 per liter which was being available at Rs 96.67 per liter.Along with this, the government also announced a subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder on LPG cylinders used in homes. This subsidy will be given on 12 gas cylinders in a year to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. After getting the subsidy, the effective price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in the national capital will come down to Rs 803. At present, an LPG cylinder is available in Delhi for Rs 1,003. This subsidy will be sent to the beneficiaries in their bank accounts so that the effective price of the cylinder will be Rs 200 less than the normal cylinder.
