Patna High Court has issued arrest warrant against Sahara India chairman Subrata Rai. He was to appear in the Patna High Court on Friday, but he did not reach the court. Angered by this, the Patna High Court has ordered the DGPs of Bihar, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to arrest Subrata Rai and present him in the court. A single bench of Justice Sandeep Kumar, during the last hearing on April 27, had directed him to physically appear before the high court on May 11 and explain how he can return the money to the investors. Since he could not come to Patna on May 11, the matter was adjourned till May 12.
Let us inform that the Single Bench of Justice Sandeep Kumar, while hearing the petition of petitioner Pramod Kumar Saini, had given Sahara Group time till May 6 and asked that the company should inform when the public money will be returned. In fact, the company had deposited money in the name of investment from lakhs of consumers in various schemes and the amount was not returned even after the completion of the period. More than 2,000 people had filed an intervention petition in the Patna High Court regarding this.
Let us tell you that in the hearing held before May 6, the High Court had directed the Sahara Group to explain that the hard earned money of the people of Bihar, which has been deposited by the investors in different schemes of Sahara Company, should be Will be returned as soon as possible. At the same time, in the hearing held on May 6, advocate Umesh Prasad Singh, on behalf of Sahara, told the High Court that Sahara has prepared several options to return the money to the customers. But the court rejected their arguments and gave the said order. The High Court has made it clear that it will issue an appropriate order in this matter. So that investors can get their money.
