Lok Sabha Elections - As soon as Mayawati refused, Congress called SP, what happened?
Lok Sabha Elections: Mayawati did not change her mind. They are still at their old stand. Neither in NDA nor in India alliance. BSP President Mayawati will contest the elections on her own. He announced this on his birthday. Since then, the enthusiasm of Samajwadi Party leaders is high. Akhilesh Yadav's people are very happy at heart. He did not want BSP to enter the alliance. The Congress people wanted to ride on two boats. Many party leaders were appealing for alliance with Mayawati. Despite Mayawati's denial, some leaders are still hopeful. If BSP fights alone, opposition votes may get divided in UP.

These days Rahul Gandhi is on India Nyay Yatra. But the people of his team have started working. Homework is going on regarding seat distribution in India alliance. UP has the maximum number of 80 Lok Sabha seats. But no work has been done on coordination of seats. The meeting of Congress and Samajwadi Party was scheduled on 12 January in Delhi. But suddenly it was cancelled. That too five hours before the meeting. From the Congress side it was said that their leaders are busy in other work. Samajwadi Party leaders said that Congress had not even done its homework. At that time, Congress was planning an alliance with Mayawati. Congress deliberately wanted to keep the talks with Samajwadi Party on hold. He was expecting good news from Mayawati's camp. It did not happen.

What happened between the two parties?

As soon as Mayawati refused, Samajwadi Party got a call from Congress. It was told that we want to hold a meeting on January 17. This meeting has been fixed in Delhi. Samajwadi Party wants to decide the formula for seat distribution as soon as possible. Akhilesh Yadav is in a mood to release the first list of candidates this month itself. Samajwadi Party wants to contest on at least 60 seats. RLD's demand is for eight seats. Congress wants the 2009 formula. Then 23 Congress leaders had won the elections. On this basis, Congress is demanding 25 seats. Akhilesh Yadav also has to adjust some allies in his quota.

Samajwadi Party has formed a committee of five leaders for the arrangement of seats. Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav was doing this work alone till now. But Akhilesh Yadav has added four more leaders to him. Javed Ali Khan, Lalji Verma, Sangram Singh Yadav and Udayveer Singh are also in this committee. Akhilesh Yadav has asked Congress to name its candidate along with the seat. This is where the matter is getting stuck. Akhilesh is not ready to leave the seat for Imran Masood and Danish Ali. There are two such seats where Akhilesh has finalized his ticket. Now Congress is also asking for ticket from there.
