Rajastha Political Crisis: Political crisis still persists in Rajasthan Congress. The party high command has to decide on the fight between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot. The party says that Sonia Gandhi will take a decision about the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in a day or two. After this all eyes are on Rajasthan. Ashok Gehlot may have said that post does not matter to him and he wants to strengthen the party, but his MLAs still have not withdrawn their resignation. He clearly says that he will consider his stand only after Delhi's decision.Earlier, Ashok Gehlot extended his support to senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of Congress President and withdrew his candidature soon after. Gehlot had said after becoming Kharge's proponent, "For me, no post is important. Congress needs to be strengthened in the country and every Indian is saying so."Offer to resign from Sonia?When asked whether he offered to resign from the post of Rajasthan Chief Minister during his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, Gehlot did not give a direct reply. He said, "I have held many positions for the last 50 years with the blessings of the Gandhi family. Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi gave me their blessings. For me the position doesn't matter but what matters is how to strengthen the party. I will try my best for this.Ashok Gehlot had met party president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday and apologized for not holding a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party in Jaipur and related developments and said that he will no longer contest for the post of president. Amidst the political developments related to Rajasthan, Congress General Secretary K. C. Venugopal said that Sonia Gandhi will take a decision in the next day or two regarding the Chief Minister.
