Appeal to make BJP win

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has been appointed by the BJP as the in-charge of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. While rallying on the outskirts of Jammu on Monday, Reddy has appealed to the people to vote for the BJP in the elections to maintain the pace of development in Jammu and Kashmir and to root out terrorism. He said that after the repeal of 370, the activities of Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI have been curbed to a great extent in Jammu and Kashmir.

People will bring BJP to power

G Kishan Reddy said in the rally that the assembly elections will be held in September and we are sure that the people will bring BJP to power with an absolute majority. People have to decide which government they want in Jammu and Kashmir, the one that is talking about restoring Article 370 or the BJP-led government - which wants to take Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of development, peace and prosperity.

Assembly elections were held in 2014

The last time assembly elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir was in the year 2014. On 19 June 2018, after the withdrawal of support from the BJP, the then CM Mehbooba Mufti resigned from the post of Chief Minister and after that Governor's rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, President's rule was later imposed here. After this, on August 5, 2019, the central government removed Article 370 and 35A and the state of Jammu and Kashmir was reorganized into two union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Since becoming a Union Territory, the Lieutenant Governor has been holding the reins of governance in Jammu and Kashmir.
