Deepotsav in Ayodhya: Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, is fully decorated on Diwali. The popular hymns, chaupais and couplets of Ramayana and Ramcharit Manas are being recited from place to place in the city. Lakhs of people from outside have also reached Ayodhya to participate in the Diwali festival. Around 18 lakh earthen lamps are expected to be lit in Ayodhya this year.

People started approaching Ram ki Paidi early in the morning to decorate the diyas in the Deepotsav and they were seen in lines to go through the police investigation. Two policemen from a tower near Lata Mangeshkar crossroads were keeping a close watch on the developments around Ram ki Paidi. Barricades have been put up on the road leading from Hanumangarhi to Ram ki Paidi and a large number of people were eagerly waiting to watch the festival.

A grand Deepotsav will be celebrated here today as part of the Diwali celebrations in Ayodhya, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will welcome and felicitate Modi on this occasion. Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath tweeted on Sunday morning, 'The successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is continuously restoring the ancient glory of the values of India's identity and Sanatan faith, was organized in the holy abode of Lord Shri Ram and Mother Janaki, Shri Ayodhya Ji. Hearty welcome to the grand-divine Deepotsav-2022.'

A red carpet has been laid in Ayodhya for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will visit Ayodhya on Sunday evening to attend 'Deepotsav' programs. After visiting Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the Prime Minister will also watch a laser show in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will show the Prime Minister the work going on in the Ram temple under construction at Ram Janmabhoomi. Elaborate security arrangements have been made throughout Ayodhya for the Prime Minister's visit.

Let us tell you that about 15 lakh diyas have been laid on Ram ki Paidi and 37 other ghats. The Ayodhya administration will try to set a new Guinness World Record by lighting 15 lakh diyas at these ghats in the Deepotsav. Another three lakh diyas will be lit at important intersections and places.

The Ayodhya administration had set a world record last year by lighting 9,41,551 diyas at Deepotsav. But this record was broken by lighting 11,71,78 diyas on Mahashivratri on the banks of Shipra in Ujjain. The special thing is that the Prime Minister will also attend the Saryu Aarti. A laser show depicting several scenes from Ramayana will be presented in front of Prime Minister Modi and Yogi Adityanath at Ram Ki Paidi Ghat on Sunday.
