Ban NPR like Kerala Government: Owaisi's demand from Telangana CM Chandrashekhar

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslamin (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday met Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao. During this time, Owaisi demanded that the state government ban the National Population Register (NPR) like Kerala. He said that NPR is the first step towards preparing NRC. The Chief Minister has asked for two days to respond to this.

A Muslim delegation of the Central Muslim Action Committee (UMAC) along with Owaisi was also present in the meeting with the Chief Minister. Owaisi said there is no difference between NPR and NRC. Home Minister Amit Shah is misleading the country. We need to understand NRC and NPR. The enforcement of this law may cause problems to the minority community.

All political parties opposed to the law: Owaisi

Owaisi said that all political parties will be together in opposition to this law. Protests against citizenship law continue across the country. 11 Chief Ministers have spoken of not implementing NRC in their respective states. It is a constitutional problem, not a political problem. Indian citizenship is being fragmented by implementing NPR, NRC and CAA.

The Kerala Chief Minister had said- NPR violates constitutional values

A few days ago, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ordered to stop all the work related to NPR in the state. According to the Chief Minister's Office, it is feared that NRC will be implemented through NPR. Vijayan had said that NPR violates constitutional values ​​and the matter is sub judice in the Supreme Court.
