Bangladesh News: The interim government has issued a stern warning to maintain security and peace during this year's Durga Puja celebrations in Bangladesh. The interim government of Bangladesh, which is said to be led by Mohammad Yunus, has vowed to take strict action against suspected miscreants in view of possible unrest during Durga Puja. The festival will be celebrated from October 9 to October 13, and the government has threatened strict action against anyone who targets places of worship or disrupts communal harmony.

"If anyone disrupts places of worship or harasses people, we will not spare them. We will punish them under the law and ensure peace," said Dr. Hussain, religious affairs adviser, during a visit to the Premtali Gaurang Bari Kalimandir in Godagari in Rajshahi district.

Dr. Hussain also said that the interim government aims to make Bangladesh free from discrimination and communalism.

Hussain has appealed to the members of the Hindu community to celebrate their festivals with full pomp and enthusiasm and assured them that no damage will be allowed to their temples. He said that the government has given priority to the security of the temples and the security system has been strengthened with the help of local people including madrasa students.

While meeting government officials at Rajshahi Circuit House on Saturday, Dr. Hussain warned that some anti-social elements may try to disturb communal harmony on the occasion of Durga Puja. On this, he has directed the law enforcement officials and the administration to take strict measures to ensure the security of the Puja pavilions.

In the past few years, the minority Hindu community in Bangladesh has faced violence, especially during the tense period after the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Then the business establishments and properties of many Hindu community people were vandalized and temples were also damaged.

Last month, thousands of Hindus took out protest rallies in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka and Chittagong demanding security. In view of their demand for security, the interim government has now made it clear that any kind of religious dissent and violence will not be tolerated during Durga Puja.

This strict warning from the interim government makes it clear that every effort will be made to maintain peace and harmony during religious festivals in Bangladesh. This step will not only guarantee the safety of the Hindu community but will also promote communal harmony across the country.
