Cricket Desk: Veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar took to Instagram on Sunday (December 19) and shared the first picture of his newborn daughter. The fast bowler and his wife Nupur were blessed with their first child on November 24 last month and almost four weeks later, Bhuvneshwar gave the world the first glimpses of his baby girl. Needless to mention, the comment section got flooded in no time as congratulatory messages poured in from different corners.

Interestingly, Bhuvneshwar might have shared the first picture of their newborn baby. However, he still han’t revealed the name of her daughter. Speaking of the post, Bhuvneshwar, wearing traditional attire, can be seen holding the baby in his hands with his wife standing beside him. He posted two black-heart emojis in the caption.

Besides fans, several members of the cricket fraternity also showered blessings on the bowler’s daughter. The likes of Suresh Raina, Karn Sharma and Ishwar Pandey were among many to congratulate the pacer and his family.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar struggling with fitness issues lately

Meanwhile, the star pacer was last seen in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand, which India won 3-0. Bhuvneshwar hasn’t been at his prime in recent years and injuries have troubled him more often than not. Post the 2019 World Cup, the pacer hasn’t played regularly for the national team due to fitness issues.

His place in India’s 2021 T20 World Cup squad was also highly questioned. The debate ignited even further as the pacer couldn’t do much and was even dropped from the playing XI. However, he managed to hold on to his spot in the subsequent T20I series against Kiwis and bowled some impressive spells. However, he wasn’t considered for the subsequent Test series and isn’t a part of India’s squad for South Africa Tests as well.

Having played his last Test almost four years ago, Bhuvneshwar hasn’t been considered by the selectors due to his fitness concerns and up-and-down form. Moreover, India aren’t short of options as far as potent pace bowlers are concerned. Nonetheless, the 31-year-old is still in the scheme of things in white-ball cricket. He would be next seen in action during the three-match ODI series against South Africa, taking place next January.
