Lok Sabha Election: The nomination papers of comedian Shyam Rangeela alias Shyam Sundar from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat have been rejected. He had filed his nomination papers on Tuesday, the last day of nomination. A total of 41 candidates had filed their nominations from Varanasi seat till May 14. Shyam Rangeela is a mimicry artist and he has been mimicking many leaders including PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi. Because of this he came into controversies many times.Nomination rejected due to this reasonSources said the nomination was rejected because Shyam Rangeela had not filed the affidavit. This information has come a day after Rangeela filed nomination from Varanasi. Mayawati's party BSP has fielded Athar Jamal Lari from Varanasi. Voting will be held in Varanasi on June 1 under the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections.Who is Shyam Rangeela?Born and raised in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, Rangeela studied animation. Rangeela is known for his mimicry skills. Especially he mimics political figures. 29-year-old Rangeela first rose to fame in 2017 when her mimicry of PM Modi went viral on social media. Since then Rangeela has been making videos imitating the PM's speeches and interviews.Apart from Modi, Rangeela has also made mimicry videos of other political personalities like Rahul Gandhi. Rangeela has been critical of PM Modi and his policies for some time. In fact, in the video announcing his candidature, there were some parts where Rangeela is heard imitating PM Modi's voice.
