World News: A bus carrying Shia pilgrims to Karbala in Iraq overturned north of Baghdad on Saturday, killing 18 people. Medical officials said millions of Shiite pilgrims from Arbaeen gather in the city each year for the pilgrimage, which is considered the world's largest annual public gathering. Pilgrims come from different parts of Iraq as well as Iran and the Gulf countries, many of whom make their way to Karbala on foot. Two Iraqi medical officials said on condition of anonymity that the bus overturned near the town of Balad, about 55 miles (90 kilometers) north of Baghdad.
