Rajasthan News: The Election Commission has released the schedule of by-elections for 5 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat lying vacant in 5 states of the country including Rajasthan. Voting for the Sardarshahr seat of Churu district in the state will be held on December 5, while the counting of votes will be held on December 8 along with the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections.The result will also come on the same day. According to the schedule released by the commission, by-elections will be held on 5 assembly seats of Orissa, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh, while Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh.Sardar Shahar seat of Churu district in Rajasthan fell vacant after the death of former MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma. MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma, who came after winning on the Congress symbol, was battling illness for a long time. He died last month on October 9. Sharma had been an MLA from this seat for 7 times. In such a situation, Congress can now field Anil Sharma, a member of the same family, from this seat.Election on Mulayam and Azam Khan's seat tooThe Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after the death of SP supremo Mulayam Singh. Apart from this, after sacking the membership of Azam Khan, who became MLA from Rampur CK Pat after winning the by-election in March itself, the commission has also announced to conduct elections there.
