Ola Electric Scooter: The verbal war going on on social media between Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra has made a lot of headlines these days. The debate started when Kunal Kamra commented on the condition of the service center of Ola Electric's S1 series EV scooters. Since then, there has been a flood of complaints about Ola scooters on social media, in which many users have questioned the quality of the scooter and the lack of service.

How did the debate start?

Kunal Kamra shared a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) criticizing the service center of Ola Electric scooters. Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal reacted to this post, which started a verbal war between the two. After this, many users also made their complaints public about the problems in Ola scooters.

Ola criticized on social media

A user named Kakul Mishra responded to Bhavish Aggarwal's tweet and wrote that he had bought the Ola scooter at the time of launch, but it has had many problems since the beginning. He claimed, "Ola has launched an incomplete product. The range of the scooter is low, there is a problem with the panel and the service is negligible from the beginning. It is better to rely on a scooter other than Ola for everyday tasks."

This was not just the case of one user, but many others also started sharing their experiences. Some users termed Bhavish Aggarwal's response as "arrogant" and "egoistic".

Bhavish Aggarwal's response and users' anger

Many users focused on Bhavish Aggarwal and said that he should take customer problems in a positive way. One user said, "If you want to stay in this industry for a long time, focus on customer service and accept feedback as improvement."

Another user said in his complaint, "Imagine a middle class person buys an Ola scooter by saving his 3-4 months' salary, and in the first week itself he starts having problems. After this the scooter stands in the service center for several days." It is clear from such reactions that dissatisfaction with Ola scooters is increasing among the customers.

Decline in Ola sales

Ola Electric's sales figures also remain a matter of concern. In the last three months, sales of Ola scooters have declined continuously. In July 2023, Ola sold 41,624 units, which came down to 12,405 units in August. At the same time, only 10,036 units of Ola were sold in September 2023. In September, the company's annual growth declined by 46%, while monthly growth also declined by 19%.

The way forward for Ola

Ola Electric entered the Indian EV market with great expectations, but recent controversies and declining sales have become a big challenge for it. Amid rising customer complaints and questions on service quality, it will be important for Ola to focus on improving its product and customer service.

The challenge before Bhavish Aggarwal and Ola is to not only improve the quality of their products but also adopt a positive attitude towards customers.
