Chetan Sharma and Harvinder singh re apply for bcci selector post ajit agarkar also in race

BCCI Selection Committee: The race to become the chief selector of Indian cricket has become more interesting now. Chetan Sharma, the chief selector of the old committee which was sacked by the BCCI, has again applied for the post. Apart from him, Harvinder Singh has also applied to become a selector again. Harvinder was also a member of the previous committee. The Senior Selection Committee was dismissed after the Indian team was out of the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup-2022 hosted by Australia.

BCCI had taken strong action

India had to face defeat against England in the semi-finals of T20 World Cup-2022. With that defeat, the journey of the Rohit Sharma-led team ended in the global tournament. Only after this the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took strict action. The board dismissed the senior selection committee. Now again applications have been invited to fill the posts of this committee. The special thing is that the former chief selector has once again applied to become the head of the selection committee.

more than 60 applications

According to the Indian Express report, apart from Chetan Sharma, Harvinder Singh has also applied to become a selector again. Harvinder has also been in the previous committee whose tenure was decided not to be extended by the BCCI. It has been said in the report that BCCI has received more than 60 applications including Chetan and Harvinder so far.

Agarkar and Mongia also in the race

Veteran cricketers Ajit Agarkar and Nayan Mongia are also involved in the race to become selectors. Apart from him, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan and Salil Ankola have also applied for this special committee. Sunil Joshi and Debasish Mohanty were also in the previous committee, who did not apply again. Among the five members who will be elected in the committee, whoever is senior in terms of experience will automatically become the chief selector.
