Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal on Tuesday wrote to Delhi Police and Twitter demanding action on child pornography. He said some of its related videos were sold on Twitter for Rs 20. While the social media platform failed to remove these posts. Maliwal said Twitter and Delhi Police have been given time till September 26 to respond to the summons.Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal wrote on Twitter, "Thousands of people have shared recordings of young girls being raped. Videos of women bathing are being posted through intelligence cameras. These companies follow laws abroad. and turns a blind eye to the vulgarity and rape of women in India."He asked Twitter how such videos exist on the platform? Also what are its policies for displaying the content? Maliwal has asked the Delhi Police to register an FIR to identify the victims and accused along with those involved in filming and uploading such videos.Also said on Mohali scandalMaliwal further said, "The Chandigarh University incident got me thinking and I have asked my team to investigate. We found videos of minor girls being raped on Twitter. Some platforms share these videos. Were selling for ₹20 to ₹30. It's terrible."Significantly, protests erupted on the campus of Chandigarh University in Punjab's Mohali on Saturday night after reports that a woman allegedly taped objectionable films of several students and shared it with others. After which Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered an inquiry. Four arrests have been made in the case so far. However, the allegations have not been proved.
