INS Arighat: To defeat every move of China, India will soon add the deadly submarine INS Arighat to the Indian Navy fleet in the Indian Ocean. The nuclear missile-equipped submarine INS Arighat has been built under the Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) project at the shipbuilding center in Visakhapatnam. This is an Arihant class nuclear powered submarine.India is going to commission the second nuclear submarine INS Arighat soon. It will have 750-km range K-15 missiles. It has been built in view of curbing China's maritime expansion. India has also planned to build two new nuclear submarines, which will be ready in a decade. The project is also going to get final approval with the construction of two more nuclear power attack submarines in India.Features of INS ArighatThe blade propellers of INS Arighat, the second missile submarine of the Arihant class, will be powered by a water reactor.This submarine can run at a maximum speed of 12-15 knots (22-28 km/h) on the surface of water.INS Arighat can run at a speed of 24 knots (44 km/h) in the depth of the sea.This submarine will have eight launch tubes.The nuclear missile-equipped submarine INS Arighat can carry up to 24K-15 Sagarika missiles with a range of 750 km or 8K-4 missiles with a range of 3,500 km.These 3 submarines will be built at Mazgaon Dockyard LimitedPreparations are underway to increase the strength of the Navy under the sea. For this, India will acquire 3 Kalvari class submarines. By the end of this year, all three submarines will start being built for the Navy. These submarines will be built at Mazgaon Dockyard Limited. French Naval Group is helping in the construction of these submarines in this project. The additional submarines to be built at Mazagon Dockyard will have up to 60 per cent Indian content.
