Punjab | A very interesting case has come to the fore in Punjab where Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has to face the reprimand of the Central Government. Actually the matter is related to the foundation stone laying of the medical college. It is reported that earlier CM Channi was going to lay its foundation but PM Modi will do it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of PGI's satellite center to be built in Ferozepur on January 5. But along with this, he will also lay the virtual foundation stone of medical colleges to be built in Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur.What is the whole matter?Actually the matter is that the foundation stone of medical colleges being built in Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur was earlier to be laid by the CM of Punjab. According to the report of Dainik Jagran, on December 18, the program of laying the foundation stone on behalf of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was also proposed. But on December 17 itself, the Health Ministry objected to this and asked to cancel these programs.Center released moneyAccording to the report, it is proposed to convert two district hospitals of Punjab into medical colleges with the help of the central government. For these colleges, 60 percent amount will be borne by the central government while the remaining 40 percent amount will be given by the state government. According to the news, for these projects of Rs 195 crore, the Center has released Rs 50 crore each to the state government for both the colleges.Channi was about to lay the foundation stoneCM Channi was to lay the foundation stone of both these colleges on 18th December. The Health Ministry objected to this. Rajesh Bhushan, secretary of the ministry, wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Secretary Anirudh Tiwari. In this, he asked how these programs were kept without taking the central government into confidence? He said that they should be cancelled. After which the Punjab State Government canceled the program following the Centre's request. Now PM Modi will lay its foundation stone on 5 January 2022.
