Rajasthan News: Now electricity consumers will not have to pay fuel surcharge in Rajasthan. CM Ashok Gehlot has announced complete waiver of fuel surcharge for consumers consuming more than 200 units of electricity. During the launch of the free smart phone scheme on Thursday, Gehlot said that instead of waiving the fuel surcharge, the government will give Rs 2,500 crore to the power companies. Fuel surcharge for agricultural and domestic consumers is now completely abolished.Gehlot said- There was a demand of the people from the state that fuel surcharge should be abolished. Earlier fuel surcharge was waived up to 200 units. Now no matter how many units are there, no fuel surcharge will have to be paid. With this announcement of CM, the common electricity consumer will get less electricity bill every month. Its effect will be seen from the next bill. After the CM's announcement, all the power companies have started the exercise. Later it was announced to waive fuel surcharge up to 200 units. Fuel surcharge is charged for consuming more than 200 units of electricity. On an average, a fuel surcharge of 30 to 70 paise per unit is charged on each unit.
