Telangana Election: After the crushing defeat of KCR's party BRS in Telangana, political turmoil is intensifying in the state Congress. Congress will soon decide on who will be the new Chief Minister of the state. Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday said that the party will take a decision on the name of the new Chief Minister of Telangana today. Earlier on Monday, in the meeting of newly elected Congress MLAs, the party president was authorized for the new Chief Minister. The MLAs had unanimously said that whoever the party president chooses as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party will be accepted by everyone.Anumula Revanth Reddy leads in CM raceAccording to the information received, many leaders of Telangana Congress are claiming for the post of Chief Minister but State Congress Committee (PCC) President Anumula Revanth Reddy is considered to be the biggest contender for the post of Chief Minister. Anumula Revanth Reddy has been elected MLA from Kodangal constituency. He has defeated BRS leader KP Narendra Reddy by more than 32 thousand votes. Reddy had contested the elections from two seats. He lost the election from one seat to the BJP candidate, however, he managed to reach the assembly by winning from Kodangal. If he becomes the Chief Minister, he will be the first Congress leader to take power in the state.Congress will form government for the first time in TelanganaLet us tell you that for the first time since the formation of the state, Congress is going to form the government in Telangana. Congress has badly defeated KCR, who has been in power for 10 years. Most of the BRS MLAs lost the elections. In the elections held on November 30 in the state, Congress has achieved majority by winning 64 out of total 119 assembly seats. The results were declared on December 3. This time BRS had to be satisfied with 39 seats. BJP has got 8 seats.
