Heath Streak News: Zimbabwe's veteran all-rounder Heath Streak passed away on 22 August. He was 49 years old. Heath Streak, the former captain of the Zimbabwe cricket team, was in the grip of cancer. During his cricket career, Streak played 65 Tests and 189 ODIs in international cricket for Zimbabwe. He captained the Zimbabwe team between 2000 and 2004. He is the only player from Zimbabwe who has taken 100 plus wickets in Test cricket.

Heath Streak's international cricket career lasted for 12 years. During this, he got his cricketing talent ironed on pitches around the world. He was not only one of the famous all-rounders of Zimbabwe but also of world cricket in his time. However, he could not win the match due to streak cancer which overshadowed his opponents in cricket. He was in the grip of this serious disease for a long time. And, finally the end of this fight ended with his death.

Henry Olanga mourns Streak's death

World cricket is also inconsolable on the death of Heath Streak. His fellow player Henry Olanga has expressed deep condolences while giving information about his death. He tweeted that Streak was the great all-rounder of our country. The feeling of playing cricket with him was very pleasant for me.

Heath Streak's International Career

Heath Streak was an all-rounder, but he was more popular for his bowling skills. Batting in the middle order for Zimbabwe, Streak scored 1990 runs in Test cricket. While he has scored 2943 runs in ODIs. He has just one century in Test cricket, which he scored against the West Indies in Harare.

Heath Streak made his international debut in the year 1993 against Pakistan. He did not take any wicket in the debut test played in Karachi. But, while playing the second Test of his career in Rawalpindi, Streak took 8 wickets.

Coaching after retiring from cricket

After retiring from international cricket in 2005, he was made the captain of England's county team Warwickshire in 2006 with a 2-year contract. But, due to some personal reasons, he had to end this agreement soon. After this, in 2007, he joined the Indian Cricket League.

After retiring from cricket, Heath Streak also made coaching his career. He coached teams like Zimbabwe, Scotland, Bangladesh, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders. However, there was a stain on his brilliant cricket career when the Anti-Corruption Unit of the ICC banned him for 8 years.
