Women T20 World Cup: Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is to be held on Bangladesh soil. For this, the ICC has already released the schedule. The first match will be played on October 3. At the same time, the final match will be held on October 20. But now the violence going on in Bangladesh even before the T20 World Cup has forced the members of the ICC to think. In view of the political instability in Bangladesh after the removal of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has sought security assurances from the country's service chief for the organization of the Women's T20 World Cup to be held between October 3 and 20.

Bangladesh Cricket Board did this work

The Women's T20 World Cup will be held in two cities of Bangladesh, Sylhet and Mirpur. The practice matches of the tournament will start from September 27. According to Cricbuzz, the BCB has written a letter to Bangladesh Army Chief General Wakar Uz Zaman seeking security assurances for organizing the tournament. The International Cricket Council is also monitoring the situation in Bangladesh where hundreds of people lost their lives in violent protests against the government and Sheikh Hasina had to resign from her post.

The ICC can organize this tournament in the same time zone and in such a situation it will have options of India, United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka. BCB Umpiring Committee Chairman Iftikhar Ahmed Mithu said that we are trying to host the tournament. We have sent a letter to the Army Chief on Thursday seeking assurances regarding the security of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup as we now have only two months left.
