In Rajasthan, Ujjwala and BPL gas connection holders can get the cylinder for just Rs 450. The file has been forwarded today for its approval. That means the new year will be a relief for the public.What is the whole matter?In Rajasthan, the Bhajanlal government of the state can start giving LPG cylinders for Rs 450 to Ujjwala and BPL gas connection holders from January 1. For this, the Food and Supply Department has made a proposal and sent it to the Chief Minister. Before the assembly elections, BJP had included it in its manifesto, which was later included by the government in its 100 day manifesto.According to sources, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma may soon approve this file. Earlier, the government of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had started giving cylinders to these connection holders for Rs 500, which came into effect from April 1. But now Bhajan Lal government is going to make this cylinder cheaper by Rs 50 more. This can be started from January 1st.How much will it cost?After this decision of the government, there will be an additional burden of Rs 52 crore every month on the state's financial fund. At present, oil and gas companies are providing 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for Rs 906. A rebate or rather subsidy of Rs 300 is given to Ujjwala connection holders by the Central Government.30 lakh refilling every monthThere are currently 70 lakh Ujjwala and BPL connection holders in the state. Of these, about 66 lakh are from Ujjwala, while 4 lakh are BPL connection holders. After the central government gives a subsidy of Rs 300 to the Ujjwala connection holders, the state government will have to give a separate subsidy of Rs 156. At present, 30 lakh cylinders are being refilled every month by these connection holders in the state.
