New Delhi: Delhi Police in its interim report to the Delhi High Court gave a clean chit to Congress leader Srinivas BV and BJP’s Gautam Gambhir saying “they are actually helping people with medicines and oxygen without charging any money.”This comes after the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Srinivas BV was questioned by Delhi Police's Crime Branch about the assistance being provided by him to people during the COVID-19 pandemic.“Police called me this morning and came to my office around 11.45 am. They questioned that how you are doing it,” he told IANS.Delhi Police following High Court ordersJustifying the questioning, the Delhi Police said that it was done following a Delhi High Court order.The high court had directed the city police to conduct an inquiry into politicians involved in the distribution of COVID-19 medicines and other items, and take steps for lodging of FIR in case of offence, reported PTI.Gautam Gambhir was also questioned by the police with cops arriving at his office in Jagriti Enclave to enquire about how the cricketer-turned-politician was arranging medicines and other essentials.Rescuer always greater than one who kills: Rahul after cops question Srinivas BVGambhir said he had provided all the details in writing to the cops and also urged Congress not to indulge in needless politics.Congress leaders including former president Rahul Gandhi had slammed the government saying the rescuer is always greater than the one who kills.In a tweet in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi said, “The rescuer is always greater than the one who kills” using the hashtag, I stand with IYC.Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar also attacked the Centre saying the government has "completely failed" to protect people from coronavirus and is now harassing people who are sincerely helping others.
