Heavy Rains In Delhi: Due to incessant rains in the national capital Delhi, all the roads, rivers and drains are in bad condition. In view of the situation in the city, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called a meeting at Sachiwal on Monday afternoon. After the meeting, CM Kejriwal said that this is not the time to do politics. On the situation arising out of heavy rains in North India, CM Kejriwal said that the governments of all the affected states need to work together to provide relief to the people. Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi and concerned officers were present in the meeting. The increase in the level of Yamuna river was also discussed in the meeting.

Even after the rain stopped, the danger of flood remains

Due to torrential rains in Delhi and release of water by the Haryana government, the water level of Yamuna is increasing continuously. Due to rise in Yamuna water level, the threat of flood in low-lying areas of Delhi persists even after the rains have stopped. At the same time, in view of the situation arising due to continuous heavy rains in the capital, the Delhi government has decided to keep all the schools closed today.

Haryana released more than 1 lakh cusecs of water in Yamuna

It is raining heavily in the northern states of the country including Delhi, Himachal, Punjab. The record of 41 years has been broken in Delhi. Since 1982, July received the highest rainfall of 153 mm in a single day. Earlier on July 25, 1982, 169.9 mm of rain was recorded. In 2003, there was 133.4 mm of rain in 24 hours. Whereas, in 2013, Delhi received 123.4 mm of rain. Here, Haryana released more than 1 lakh cusecs of water in Yamuna. After this, the Delhi government has issued a flood warning.
