Delta variant of COVID 19 is about 60 per cent more transmissible than Alpha strain

New Delhi: Regarding the delta variant of Covid-19 found in India, health experts have said on Friday that this variant is more contagious than the alpha variant. UK health experts have found in their research that the delt variant is 60 percent more contagious than the alpha variant, and in some cases this variant also reduces the efficacy of the vaccine.

Public Health England (PHE) tracks each variant of the coronavirus causing anxiety weekly. PHE has said that the cases of delta variant infection have increased from 29,892 to 42,323 in the country. There has been an increase of up to 70 percent in these cases. The data is also indicating that 90 percent of new cases of Kovid-19 in the UK are related to the delta variant. The Delta variant cases are increasing significantly as compared to the Alpha. New research conducted by PHE states that the risk of transmission of Delta in the home is 60 percent higher than that of Alpha. Cases related to delta variants are increasing rapidly.

England and Scotland have also done research on the effect of delta and alpha on the vaccine. This research has revealed that after the first dose of the vaccine, the delta variant reduces the effect of the vaccine more rapidly than the alpha variant. It has been said by PHE that the number of new cases of delta variant has increased in the UK. It has been said from PHE that this variant will be closely monitored in the coming weeks.
