DGHS s new guideline for the treatment of Covid said Never take these medicines

New Delhi: Major changes have been made in the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry for the treatment of corona infection. Now under the new guidelines, the use of ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine and anti-fever Favipiravir has been banned. A large number of doctors and medical researchers had said that there is no scientific evidence that these drugs benefit corona patients. After this this decision has been taken by the government.

The Directorate General of Health Services, under the Health Ministry, has not included ivermectin and favipiravir in the new 9-page guidelines. Recently, these drugs were used fiercely during the peak of the second wave of Corona. Even through black marketing of these drugs, conditions of shortage in the market were created.

If there are no symptoms of corona then stop these medicines

The revised guidelines, issued on May 27, effectively removed all drugs that doctors were prescribing even for asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic COVID-19 patients. It contains Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, Doxycycline, Zinc, Multivitamin etc. In this, the doctors have been asked not to even advise the patient to undergo CT scan if it is not necessary. For asymptomatic corona cases, it has been said in this guideline that they do not require any medicine. Whereas medicines should be continued for patients already suffering from diseases other than corona. The guideline emphasizes on a healthy balanced diet along with body hydration.

Monitor fever and oxygen level yourself

In mild cases, self-monitoring of fever, breathlessness, oxygen level or any symptoms have been advised. The guidelines state that people can take anti-pyretic and anti-tussives if they show symptoms of corona, and budesonide at a dose of 800 mcg twice a day for 5 days for cough. Apart from all this, no other medicine is needed.
