Ravi Kumar Dahiya couldn't hide his disappointment when he failed to win gold. “I was happy but didn't get what I came for,” he said after losing to Zavur Uguev of the Russian Olympic Committee in the final.
“We worked a long time for this (the Olympics), and after I qualified my goal was a gold medal. Now that I have the money maybe now I deserve this. In the future, I will work harder and win a gold medal, ”he said.
Dahiya severely restricted her food intake and slept for two hours on Wednesday evening. He exercised again Thursday morning and was about to reach his weight limit. The aggressive weight reduction seems to have affected him as he feels tired after the fight. Dahiya, however, offered no excuse.
“Uguev is a good wrestler and has been world champion several times. We researched and worked with the competition, but we failed somewhere. “We will work on it again and try to win gold next time,” he said. Surprisingly, Dahiya also lost to Uguev at the world championship.
