Diwali gift from the government to 11.72 lakh railway employees

Modi 3.0 Government: The Railway Ministry of the Government of India has announced the bonus to be given to the employees this year. The Railway Ministry has announced to give 78 days bonus to its employees this year. This decision of the Railway Ministry will benefit 11,72,240 railway employees. Announcing a 78-day bonus for railway employees, the Union Railway Minister said that a total of 76 days bonus was to be given to the employees on the basis of productivity. But in an important cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 78 days bonus was approved for railway employees.

A total bonus of Rs 2029 crore will be given to the employees

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that a total of Rs 2029 crore will be given to 11,72,240 railway employees as a bonus of 78 days. The Railway Minister said that this will be the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) given to the employees. Giving information about the figures related to railway employees, Ashwini Vaishnav said that a total of 1,19,952 people joined the railways in the financial year 2023-24. Apart from this, the process of recruitment of 58,642 employees is going on. Ashwini Vaishnav told that as of March 31, 2024, the total number of railway employees was 13,14,992.

When will the bonus be paid to the employees

According to the information given by the Ministry of Railways, this amount of Rs 2029 crore will be given to different classes of railway employees like track maintainer, loco pilot, train manager (guard), station master, supervisor, technician, technician helper, pointsman, ministerial staff and other group 'C' employees. The Ministry of Railways said that like every year, this year also the bonus will be paid to the employees from Durga Puja / Dussehra holidays. The Ministry said that the maximum bonus amount for 78 days given to a railway employee is Rs 17,951.
