E-bus ran as midnight, six people died in the accident, nine injured, President expressed grief

From Ghantaghar to Tatmill intersection on Sunday midnight, the electric bus ran as a death. Hit half a dozen vehicles and trampled 15 people. Finally, hitting the traffic booth at the middle of the crossroads, entered the dumper. Six people died in the accident. Nine people are injured. The condition of some of the injured is serious. Late in the night, four of the dead could be identified.

At around 11.30 pm, an electric bus was going towards Tatmil from Ghantaghar intersection at high speed. As soon as the bridge descended, the driver of the bus started running in the opposite direction and trampled the one who came in the middle and left. Tatmill hit the traffic booth at the intersection and then collided with a dumper coming from Chakeri's side. Six people died in the accident. Out of which four could be identified. The police continued to struggle to identify the other dead.

President mourns

President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted condoling the accident. In which he said that he is deeply saddened by the news of many casualties in the bus accident in Kanpur. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this incident. I wish the injured a speedy recovery.

Car and bike-scooty blown up

Shivam alias Shubham Sonkar (30), resident of Latush Road, his friend Twinkle alias Sunil Sonkar (30) and Ramesh Yadav were in a scooty. They also got hit by the bus. In which Shivam and Sunil died. At the same time, Aslan (20), a resident of Bekenganj, riding a bike, was also passing from there. He also died. Ajit Kumar (60), a resident of Keshav Nagar in Naubasta, also died. The others could not be identified. The e-bus first hit a Swift car, then two bikes, two scooties, a tempo, a Zen car and then a dumper. Six were put to death.

The family was returning from the wedding ceremony

A family of Dhankutti resident and his relatives were also injured in the accident. In this, Vinay Shukla, his wife Aarti, brother-in-law Rakesh Tripathi and his sister Neelu Jane were returning from the car after attending a wedding ceremony with Ruma. The uncontrollable bus had hit this car as well. All these people are injured. The condition of some of them is serious. Apart from this, six other people including bike rider Saurabh and Amit, resident of Ahirwan, Jeetram, resident of Pratapgarh, a tempo rider, are injured. Many injured have been admitted to different hospitals. whose identities have not yet been ascertained.

The driver fled as soon as the accident took place

The bus driver has not been found at the scene of the incident. The driver fled from there as soon as the accident took place. The police is now contacting the concerned department to find out about the bus driver. Action will be taken against him by registering an FIR. Police is also checking the footage of CCTV cameras installed there. That would make it clear how the accident happened.

The bodies of the dead have been sent to the mortuary. The injured are being treated in the hospital. The bus driver is absconding. Search for him is going on. Initial investigation found the fault of the bus driver. The facts will be clear after the rest of the investigation.
