Regarding the allegations made by the Congress, the Election Commission has clearly termed these allegations as baseless, wrong and factless. Also, a detailed reply of 1642 pages has also been sent to the Congress, in which analysis and evidence of every allegation has been given. The Commission has appealed to the Congress to refrain from making baseless allegations during the electoral process, as this can lead to unrest and chaos in public interest.

Commission's strict warning to Congress

The Election Commission has warned the Congress that making irresponsible allegations on the sensitive days of polling and counting has a negative impact on public opinion and the process of democracy. Citing five such major cases in the last one year, the Commission suggested to the Congress that it should do due diligence before attacking the election work and avoid allegations without providing evidence.

Investigation of complaints by returning officers

The Election Commission said that the returning officers conducted a thorough investigation and verification in all the 26 assembly constituencies on which the Congress had raised questions. No evidence of any irregularity or mistake was found in this investigation. All the election processes were conducted under the supervision of authorized representatives of Congress or candidates.

Response to Congress' allegations regarding battery in EVM

The Election Commission termed the question raised regarding the condition of the battery in EVM as absurd. The Commission clarified that the voltage and capacity of the battery does not have any effect on the functioning or security of the EVM. The Election Commission said that the display of the battery is only to assist the technical team and it has no effect on the results. The Commission gave a strict warning to the Congress on such baseless allegations.

Citing the court's decision on the reliability of EVM

The Commission also referred to the court's decisions regarding EVM, which stated that after extensive investigation and testing, EVM has proved its reliability in the electoral process. The Election Commission urged the Congress to curb the tendency of repeatedly attacking the electoral processes and play a supportive role in the democratic process.

This episode makes it clear that the Election Commission is strongly countering the baseless allegations levelled by the Congress and has responded by factually refuting each allegation.
