England fan proposes to Australian girlfriend in stands during 1st Ashes Test, pics viral

Cricket Desk: Proposals right in front of the Eiffel Tower have been considered as iconic over the years but for sports lovers, there's arguably nothing better than getting a 'Yes' inside the stadiums during live games. On Day 3 of the first Ashes Test, an Australia fan proposed to his girlfriend and got a big 'Yes'.

The man popped up the question as Australia were 8 down for 413 in Brisbane, with Travis Head still going strong, having scored a terrific hundred. In the video, the girl looked surprised at first but didn't take long in giving the nod. Hugs, kisses and celebrations were witnessed on the camera as the couple officially took the next step in their relationship.

It isn't the first time that a proposal was witnessed at the Gabba during an Ashes Test. Back in 2017, a marriage proposal was witnessed while a couple was enjoying an Australia vs England match by the Pool Deck on Day 2 in Brisbane.

A guy named Michael dropped on one knee and asked the girl, named Tori, to marry him. Fans all around them were delighted as the guy got the yes he wanted and the entire section erupted in jubilation.

Australia in driving seat at the Gabba

Much like the Australian fan, the cricket team is also in the driving seat as far as their fate in the first Ashes Test is concerned. After restricting England for 147 runs in the first innings, the hosts put a whopping total of 425 runs on the board. Travis Head was the top-scoring batsman for the Aussies, scoring 152 runs from just 148 balls. 

David Warner (94) and Marnus Labuschagne (117) were two other Australian batters with big contributions to the first innings total. England have a mountain to climb if they are to secure a positive result from this game. With two sessions on Day 3 still to be completed, the tourists would need to put one of their finest performances ever to carve out a favourable result.
