Turkey Coal Mine Blast: There has been news of a blast in a coal mine in northern Turkey on Friday. The blast was so severe that at least 25 people died. According to media reports, the Turkish Health Minister said that at least 25 people have died in an explosion inside a coal mine in northern Turkey. The blast took place at the state-run TTK Amasara Musse Mudurlugu mine in the city of Amasara in the Black Sea coastal province of Bartin. Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said preliminary investigations indicated the blast was possibly caused by flammable gases (fireamps) found in coal mines.'110 people were present in the mine'Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, who went to Amasara to oversee the rescue mission, said 110 people were present in the mine at the time of the blast. The minister said that most of the laborers managed to escape after the blast, but 49 people were trapped in the high-risk area. Suleiman Soylu did not give the number of people trapped inside. However, he added that some of the 49 have been evacuated safely.
