Four people, including father and son, died tragically after a short circuit fire broke out in a saree finishing factory located in Ashfaq Nagar Colony of Bhelupur police station area of Varanasi. The local people, showing readiness, extinguished the fire before the arrival of the fire brigade, otherwise the accident could have been worse.As the investigation of the massive fire that broke out at Annapurna Grandeur Apartment in Sigra last week was underway, an even bigger and more painful incident took place in Kamachha area today. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the incident.
District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, who reached the spot after getting information about the accident, said that a person resident of Madanpura used to do sari finishing work in the room of a house located in Ashfaq Nagar. The fire broke out while cooking, possibly around 12.45 pm on Thursday.Saree, foam, finishing material were kept in the 12 ft × 10 ft room which was of synthetic and due to which the fire spread rapidly in the room. Four people could not leave the room in an attempt to put out the fire. Soon the fire took on a formidable form and all four were trapped in the same room due to which they died.The local people put out the fire by pouring water into the room located on the narrow lane and took out the gas cylinder safely. The fire did not reach any other house. There are many houses facing each other in the narrow street. All the four persons present in the room had died before the fire was extinguished.In this painful accident, a 45-year-old resident of Madanpura, his 22-year-old son, two laborers resident of Araria (Bihar) have died. Police reached the spot and took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. Appropriate compensation assistance will be given to the dependents of the deceased under the disaster relief.
CM Yogi expressed grief, announced compensationChief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the loss of life in the Ashfaq Nagar accident. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. Along with this, instructions have been given to give relief amount of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of each deceased from the State Disaster Fund.
