FIR filed against Mahua Moitra under 79 BNS, know what is the matter

Mahua Moitra News: Trinamool Congress Party MP Mahua Moitra is once again seen embroiled in controversies. There is a lot of controversy over her comment against National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma. A case has also been registered against Mahua Moitra on the complaint of Rekha Sharma. New criminal laws have come into force in the country on July 1. Now the Indian Justice Code has replaced the IPC. A case has been registered against Mahua Moitra under the new law.

TMC MP Mahua Moitra had made objectionable comments on social media platform X regarding National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma. Now the Special Cell of Delhi Police has registered a case against her and sought detailed information about the post from the social media company. Let us tell you that an FIR has been registered against Mahua Moitra under section 79 of BNS. Under section 79 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), there is a provision for action for doing words, gestures or work with the intention of insulting the dignity of a woman. This section has been imposed against Mahua Moitra.

What is the matter?

Actually, the Chairperson of the Women's Commission had gone to the spot after the Hathras stampede incident. Mahua Moitra made an objectionable comment while reacting to one of her videos in this regard. After her comment on social media, a ruckus broke out. The BJP reacted strongly to this and attacked the TMC MP fiercely. The National Commission for Women also gave a strong reaction to this. Later, a formal complaint was lodged with the police against Mahua Moitra. Now the Special Cell of Delhi Police has taken action against TMC MP Mahua Moitra and registered an FIR.

Delhi Police sought details from X

Mahua Moitra had attacked NCW chief Rekha Sharma by posting on X. The TMC MP had strongly criticized her. Her comment created an uproar. After this, Mahua deleted her post. Now Delhi Police has sought details of Mahua Moitra's post from social media platform X.
