New Delhi: A major accident happened in Jammu on Friday when a bus going from Katra to Jammu caught fire. This bus was going from Nomai area of Katra to Jammu. The bus caught fire under suspicious circumstances near Kharmal area, about one and a half kilometers from Katra. In this incident, 4 people died tragically while 22 people got scorched due to the fire.
According to the police, in the initial investigation, there was a fire in the engine of the bus and seeing it spread throughout the bus. The fire spread so fast that there was no time to save the passengers or get them out of the bus. Those injured in the incident have been admitted to the hospital, but the condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.Forensic team engaged in the investigation of the incidentGiving information about this accident, ADGP Jammu tweeted that on the way from Katra to Jammu, a local bus whose number is JK14/1831 had reached about 1 km from Katra that suddenly caught fire. He said that rescue teams are stationed at the spot. The Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, said that as of now the initial investigation has not revealed any use of explosives in the incident but the forensic team is engaged in the investigation.Eyewitnesses who witnessed this incident said that as soon as the bus caught fire, people started running here and there inside the bus. The fire spread so fast inside the bus that there was no time to evacuate the passengers immediately. By the time all the passengers came out, 4 people had died.
