Delhi: The ruckus increased on Thursday in protest against the Agneepath scheme of the central government. In nine states of the country, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, youths arson and pelted stones on Thursday. Youth preparing for army recruitment set fire to Intercity Express at Bhabua Road railway station in Bihar. Train was also set on fire in Chhapra and Gopalganj. A stampede broke out at Ara railway station due to stone pelting.

According to the North Eastern Railway, 22 trains have been canceled due to the protest of the youth. At the same time, five trains have been stopped between half the journey.


Delhi: Train stopped by lying on tracks

The youths from different parts of Delhi lay down on the tracks of Nangloi railway station and blocked the rail route. They reached around 9.45 in the morning and started shouting slogans. Meanwhile some youths lay down on the train tracks. Due to this the train route was disrupted. The train coming from Jind in Haryana to Old Delhi had to be stopped at the station itself. The protesters later vacated the railway track after persuading the police, GRP and officials.


Uttar Pradesh: Clashes with Police

In Bulandshahr too, youth have taken to the streets against Agneepath. The youth expressed their protest by blocking the road. When the police reached the spot, tried to clear the road, there was a scuffle between both the sides. Similarly, the students who were protesting in Unnao were chased away by the police. On the other hand, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Agneepath scheme will give a new direction to the lives of the youth and will give a golden base to the future.

Bihar: BJP MLA attacked in Nawada

Youths opposing the Agneepath scheme attacked BJP MLA Aruna Devi's convoy when she was going to court. Five people, including the MLA, are reported to have been injured in the incident. Students also vandalized the BJP office in Nawada. The youth stopped the Kashi Patna Express for about 10 minutes at Buxar railway station. The police, who reached the spot, persuaded the students and removed them from the railway track, after which the train was dispatched.

Haryana: Vehicles set on fire in Palwal

Hundreds of students preparing for the army suddenly took to the streets. The youth gheraoed the residence of the Deputy Commissioner of Palwal. After this, the youth blocked the road and set several vehicles on fire. The police had to use tear gas shells to control the situation. Internet service has been turned off. A large number of students also blocked the Gurugram-Jaipur highway. Police diverted the route and rescued the people trapped on the way safely.


Madhya Pradesh: Lathi charge on students in Gwalior

Madhya Pradesh Police lathi-charged in Gwalior to stop the students who took to the road in protest against the Agneepath scheme. A case of vandalism has also come to the fore in the office of the manager of Birla Nagar railway station in Gwalior. Similarly in Jhansi too, youth took to the road and protested by burning tires. Jhansi Division of North Central Railway says that a mob of students pelted stones on several trains. At the same time, more than seven trains have been stopped at different places.

Rajasthan: Jaipur-Delhi highway jammed

Youth preparing for army recruitment blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway (NH-8) in protest against the Agneepath scheme. At the same time, a case of vandalism by attacking the collectorate office in Sikar has come to light.
