Treatment was going on in AIIMSThe 12-year-old child was a resident of Haryana. The child was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi on July 2. Initially, it was a complication of leukemia i.e. cancer and accompanied by pneumonia. This lung disease causes difficulty in breathing. The child's covid test came negative. After this, on suspicion, the child's sample was sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune, from where bird flu has been confirmed in the child.
