New Delhi : The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on e-commerce company Flipkart. In fact, Flipkart is alleged to have allowed the sale of domestic pressure cookers that did not meet quality standards through its platform. That is why the fine has been imposed.CCPA Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare said that Flipkart allowed the sale of substandard pressure cookers on its platform. This is a violation of the rights of the consumers. Therefore, a fine of Rs 1 lakh has been imposed.Refund Orders: Along with this, Flipkart has been asked to inform the buyers of all 598 pressure cookers sold on its platform. Apart from this, instructions have been given to bring back the defective pressure cooker and refund the money to the consumers. At the same time, the company has also been asked to submit the compliance report within 45 days.Amazon was also fined: Let us tell you that earlier this month also, the Central Consumer Protection Authority had also fined e-commerce major Amazon for selling pressure cookers not meeting the quality standards. The fine was Rs 1 lakh. Amazon was ordered to notify consumers, recall products, and refund buyers of 2,265 pressure cookers sold through its platform.
