For sale: Cong leader after Scindia gets Civil Aviation Ministry

New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Srinivas BV took a dig at Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, calling him “bikau” (saleable).

Srinivas shared a cartoon on his Twitter which sparked a row with netizens saying that this kind of negativity will only hurt Congress.

Reacting to this, BJP leader RP Singh called it a new low in Indian politics and said that people who sold the entire country are accusing Scindia.

This is nothing but political bankruptcy of the Congress and their leadership, he added. 

‘BJP taps talent; young leaders from Congress frustrated’ 

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia also slammed the Congress for targeting young and enterprising leaders like Scindia, saying it shows the utter frustration of the grand old party.

“The message is clear that BJP recognises and taps talent, and in the Congress, the mantra is that if anybody has more potential than Rahul Gandhi, then don’t let him rise,” said Bhatia.

He also claimed that young leaders of Congress are frustrated as they are not getting the opportunity they deserve.

‘Already bought king, is ready to...’

On Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh Congress also took a dig at the newly inducted Minister.

“Already bought king, is ready to take over Maharaja Airlines that is ready to be sold,” tweeted MP Congress (roughly translated from Hindi).

Scindia, who switched from Congress to the BJP last year, had served as the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and in the UPA II government served as the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.

He also played a key role in BJP’s return to power in Madhya Pradesh last year after the Kamal Nath-led Congress government ruled the state for 15-months.

Jyotiraditya's father, Madhav Rao Scindia, had also served as the Civil Aviation Minister and held the post from 1991 to 1993.
