Officials informed on Saturday that this accident happened on Friday night. The family had returned from Kerala after a holiday on the same day. According to media reports, Mathews Mulakkal, his wife Lini Abraham and their two children were in their second floor flat in Abbasiya area on Friday night. They died due to suffocation in a fire caused by a short circuit in the air conditioner around 8 pm. A relative told in Kerala on Saturday that Mathews had been working there for the last 15 years.
