The players will be auctioned on December 9. It is expected that some big announcement will be made regarding this on that day. A BCCI official told PTI on condition of anonymity that the final decision regarding the match venues can be taken after December 9 (WPL auction date), but there is every possibility that it could be held in different cities this time. And currently Mumbai and Bengaluru are at the forefront of this race.Mumbai and Karnataka Cricket Association officials have also shown interest in hosting the WPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore women's team captain Smriti Mandhana had also advocated organizing WPL matches in different cities.
