Coronavirus India - Government Says, 48 Delta Plus Cases Found In Indias 11 States
New Delhi: The Central Government on Friday said that so far 48 cases of delta plus variant of coronavirus have been found in the country, with the maximum number of cases recorded in Maharashtra (20). 9 cases of this variant have been found in Tamil Nadu and 7 in Madhya Pradesh while in Kerala this number is three. There are two cases each of delta variants in Punjab and Gujarat. Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Jammu have one case each for this variant. It is worth noting that two days ago, the government had informed about the presence of 40 cases of Delta Plus in the country. However, the government said that this time the spread of the variant is still 'locally'.Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) DG Dr. Balram Bhargava said, 'In 10 days it will be known how effective the vaccine is on Delta Plus. In the delta variant, the mutation is also due to pressure and it gets a better environment. There is a risk of the virus spreading more than spreading in the cluster. He said that the delta variant is in 80 countries, it has 3 subtypes. In 16 countries, more than 25% of cases are of the delta variant. He said that the culture test of Delta-Delta Plus variant is being done from April-June 2021. Variant doesn't change public health much. Some viruses spread the infection more. Studies are also going on that the vaccine should also be modified due to the variant. He said that the second wave is not over, 92 districts have 5 to 10% positivity. Dr. Bhargava said that a decision will be taken on the vaccine on children by September, its trial is going on.He told that pregnant women can also get the corona vaccine. Delta Plus has recently been considered a 'Variant of Concern' by the Ministry of Health. NCDC Director, Sujit Singh informed that genomic variation is studied in 28 labs. In sequencing, samples of people who have come from abroad are tested. Community surveillance is done so that the spread of the virus is detected. Work is now being done with the WHO's strategy. Samples are also being taken from labs and hospitals in all the states. The third important aspect is that the infection case or vaccine failure is investigated. VOI is checked in the sample that comes from every district hospital. When symptoms are found in a few different VOIs, the test starts again. This is a long process. Scientific evidence is found. This can take many days. When we feel that the cases are increasing, then for this, that VOI (Variant of Interest) is marked that it is VOC (Variant of Concern).Secretary (DBT) Renu Swarup said that efforts should be made not to affect any variant. WHO names the virus according to global data. When there is a mutation in the virus. When a virus appears to affect health, it is kept in the variant of interest. When the virus affects the body, it is kept in the VOI When we find during the study that the infection is increasing due to VOI then it is again classified as VOC. Delta is in many countries. Another mutation has been detected in the delta. It was named Delta Plus. We are seeing if the cases are increasing due to Delta Plus. Samples are coming from 300 sites. Samples are also coming from hospitals. Out of 65,000 samples, 50,000 samples have been tested. The virus will keep changing. We have to take care of ourselves. The ministry is in constant touch with INSACOG. Luv Agarwal said that where there are more cases, there will be more mutation. This is also the reason why there are more cases of mutation virus in Maharashtra. He said that there has been a reduction of 88% cases from the peak. Now 100 cases are coming every day in 125 districts of the country. The Ministry of Home Affairs and then the Ministry of Health had also asked the states to relax the lockdown in view of the cases. Though the state is independent, the Center is in constant touch.
