UP Politics: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently made an important statement regarding the Gyanvapi complex located in Varanasi, which has given a new direction to religious and historical discourse. CM Yogi said about the Gyanvapi complex that today people recognize it as a mosque, but the reality is that Gyanvapi is in the form of Lord Vishwanath.

The story of Acharya Adi Shankar and Gyanvapi

In a program, CM Yogi recalled the historical incident of Acharya Adi Shankar's arrival in Gyanvapi. He told that when Acharya Adi Shankar reached Kashi with his Advaita knowledge, Lord Vishwanath decided to test him. One morning, when Adi Shankar came out for a bath in the Ganges, Lord Vishwanath came in front of him in the form of a Chandal and challenged him.

CM Yogi explained in detail, "When Adi Shankar tried to remove the Chandal, the Chandal asked him whether his knowledge was looking at the physical body or the Brahma residing inside that body. The Chandal clarified that Brahma is the truth and this truth exists inside every person. If Adi Shankar is rejecting this Brahma, then it shows the falsity of his knowledge."

The real form of Gyanvapi

CM Yogi told that Adi Shankar was surprised to hear the Chandal's words and he wanted to know who that Chandal was. The Chandal replied that Gyanvapi, which is known as a mosque today, is actually Lord Vishwanath in person. This Gyanvapi is the form of the same Brahma whom Adi Shankar had traveled to worship and meditate.

Physical untouchability and unity of society

Sharing his views related to this incident, Chief Minister Yogi said, "Adi Shankar not only bowed down after hearing Baba Vishwanath's answer, but he also became deeply concerned about the problem of physical untouchability. He realized that physical untouchability not only hinders the path of sadhana, but is also a big challenge for national unity and integrity. If our society had understood this obstacle, then perhaps the country would never have been enslaved."

Conclusion

CM Yogi Adityanath's statement presents the religious and historical importance of the Gyanvapi complex in a new perspective. The things presented by him through the story of Acharya Adi Shankar not only give an opportunity to review religious beliefs, but also underline the importance of physical untouchability and social unity. It is clear from this statement that the religious and historical importance of Gyanvapi is an integral part of Indian culture and history, which needs to be understood and believed.
